THE WOMAN DIED (8) by Simpa Omoluabi

Soyinka, `the murderers are here...` said you
In a speech you at your friend's burial were
Making; I do in these few lines say here
Perhaps old age made you forget you
And Ige by your words pointing fingers
On that day were among the murderers
Most present during your pal's interment,
Or maybe the Nobel does make one saint-
Like and absolves a man of murder.
Utmostly the dame did not surrender
At all e'en when you and your pal Ige
Brandished your weapon with which on that day
In cold-blood you killed that woman that I
Canonize that her flame shall never die.
